I’m off to Amsterdam today; a couple of days r&r in that wonderful city and then I head off to play some gigs. I’ll be playing a few in Holland and then I go to Berlin to start a ‘book tour’ of all things. Joe Boyd is out pushing his new book, “White Bicycles”, and I’ve been asked to join him in Germany. He’ll be reading from the book and telling stories and I’ll be picking and singing for textural relief. I’m very much looking forward to getting back to Munich where, in addition to a gig with Joe, I’ll be doing a guitar workshop at a sweet little shop called Folkladen and visiting with my friends there.
After Europe, I’ll be returning to the USA starting in New England. I’ll be visiting with my adorable little grandson on Martha’s Vineyard and then gigging down the east coast to North Carolina and back up to Cape Cod. I love this stuff.
Later in early December I’ll be playing Town Hall in NYC with Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion”. This will give me another chance to write some new arrangements. I love breaking in material on this show. Garrison’s spontaneity is contagious so I take chances.
I’ll update the web journal when I return form my tour. The previous “What’s Up” is still here…. below… Auf wiedersehen!
